FORMER world team champion Wallace Booth – pictured above – is facing six months on the sidelines as he tries to resurrect his professional career.
Along with 2008 Eisenhower Trophy colleagues Callum acaulay and Murrayshall’s Gavin Dear, he set his sights on making an impression in the professional ranks.
But a niggling shoulder injury has handicapped him badly and now he has been forced to undergo surgery to get his career back on track.
The Comrie player is resigned to missing the whole of this season.
Yesterday, the 25-year-old former Walker Cup star said: “There were two or three different problems involving muscles and tendons but now that the operation in Manchester has been done I'm confident I'm on the road to recovery.
“It could be three to six months before I'm hitting a golf ball again and probably a bit longer until I'm competing. I've hardly played since I turned pro and that's been very frustrating but I will hopefully return with more determination than ever.”
