Heroes backed by North Inch Golf Course

THE North Inch Golf Course is among a clutch of courses across Scotland who have signed-up to the mushrooming Golf4Heroes Project.

The project is part of the Battleback Programme, a tri-service initiative which uses sport, among other things, in the aftercare of wounded service personnel, to aid their rehabilitation and return to a more normal active life.

The Golf4Heroes campaign is asking golf courses around the UK and Ireland and worldwide to offer complimentary green fees that injured servicemen who are members of the programme can use to help improve their golf, in between attending Battleback clinics.

Clubs enrolling in the scheme pledge to offer a Battleback golf member up to one complimentary green fee in any given week.

There are currently 52 golfers nationwide – injured servicemen from the army, RAF and navy – enlisted on the golf programme.

The North Inch Golf Club is urging other clubs around Perthshire to sign up to this programme and make Perth and Kinross a central point for welcoming these servicemen to return to the game.
