Golf fundraiser in Pitlochry

PITLOCHRY Golf Course’s inaugural Charity Golf Day has raised more £5000 for children with cancer.

And the team have immediately set another date for 2012.

The course’s maiden CLIC Sargent Charity Golf Day was held in Highland Perthshire, with on-course competitions, lunch, dinner and a charity auction.

In total, over 60 golfers took part and, combined with two endurance challenges undertaken by course director Jon Erasmus, proceeds topped the £5000 mark.

Course officials thanked all those who took part and announced that they have already settled on May 31 as the date for next year’s event.

Director Erasmus, who also undertook the Great Wilderness Challenge and will tackle the Loch Ness Marathon on Sunday for the charity, said: “The inaugural CLIC Sargent Charity Golf Day proved a fantastic success and we are already getting excited about next year.”

Pitlochry Golf Course is about to embark upon a £200,000 Centre for Excellence project and recently featured on BBC Scotland’s Golf Show programme.
