Tom goes seven up

BOROUGHMUIR’S Tom Bury, from Perth, has been called up to the Scotland 7s squad for the first two legs of the IRB Sevens World Series in Dubai and South Africa.

Bury, who is a member of the Area Institute supported the National Academy, was part of the Scotland 7s development squad – the Scottish Thistles – at the recent SCC International Rugby 7s in Singapore.

The Scots finished fifth to lift the Shield title.

He replaces Jamie Hunter who has been withdrawn due to injury.

The Dubai tournament, which takes place on Friday and Saturday, is the first leg of the eight-part Series.

The Series finishes at Murrayfield on Saturday 30 and Sunday 31 May.
