U18: LAST Saturday the team played host to Gordonstoun. Having been narrowly defeated at the start of the season by the visitors, a hard fixture was anticipated.
However, in their best performance this season, Shire proved to be to strong for the Gordonstoun lads.
From the first whistle, Perthshire played with an intensity which was kept going the whole match.
The game was minutes old when the home side opened with John McColl driving over the line.
The forwards dominated the opposition’s pack and provided quick ball for the backs who were using it to good effect.
The defence was good, with Gordonstoun driven off the Perth line a few times.
Altogether Perthshire scored eight tries, with Alisdair Prentice getting on the score sheet again after another great performance.
Stuart Seaton was in good form as well after throwing his opposite number a dummy then evading two tacklers and running half the length of the pitch to score.
Gordonstoun were a better team than the score would indicate but the ShirelLads were on top form.
Final score: Perthshire 49, Gordonstoun 0.
There is no Colts’ fixture this weekend.
U16: The team has a break from rugby this weekend. A full turn-out is required for the training session next Wednesday.
