AROUND 1400 rugby fans turned out at McDiarmid Park to savour an impressive Scotland win.
The U20 side saw-off the Irish 35-20 on Friday. The match was illuminated by excellent rugby topped off by the Scots crossing the line four times.
The Irish, like their senior counterparts, were chasing a Grand Slam but found the Scots too hot to handle.
But for a late Irish rally, the scoreline would have been even more emphatic for the hosts.
Manager John Jeffrey labelled the performance the best he had been involved with at this level.
