Perth Academy rugby players defeat Balfron

Balfron HS 12

Perth Academy 20

Brewin Dolphin Scottish Schools Rugby U15 Cup Round 2

THIS was a great game played in a torrential downpour with big hits and dynamic running from both sides.

However, the Academy Blues kicked their conversions and showed great determination to score a late try to close out the game and secure a well deserved victory. The team now plays The Glasgow Academy in Round 3 on November 10 with a 2pm kick-off (TBC).

U18: The Academy Blues progressed into the second round of the plate as unfortunately Arbroath HS could not raise a team.

The Academy will be seeking a warm up match prior to the next round being drawn.

The two sides met earlier in the year in the first round of the Scottish Cup, with the Eagles winning easily. But Glenrothes were missing a number of key players and this Sunday’s game should be a closer affair.
