A TOUCH of glamour and a helping of beefcake will help kick off a Perth rugby fund-raiser next month.
Likely to be far removed from the mud and sweat of the playing field, the Scone Airport event will instead bring the ladies into play for a mega Mother’s Day treat.
Boasting lunch and a fashion show, the Hangar venue host live entertainment between 1pm and 6pm on March 14.
Event organiser Jo Hood said the activities would make a perfect Mother’s Day treat – and raise funds for Perthshire Rugby Club at the same time.
“This is a proper girls’ day out,” she told the PA yesterday.
“The day is jam packed with live entertainment including African drummers and Scottish pipers playing at the same time!
“There is also a two-course lunch, full fashion show featuring professional models including local model Joe Kydd, Mr Scotland and Dave McCall, the talented rugby player for the Glasgow Warriors.”
Bonus attractions will include exclusive shopping offers, treats for all present and a special Mother’s Day gift for mums.
And Ms Hood said a healthy turnout would help the Eagles’ efforts to encourage more youngsters to take up the oval ball game.
“Team sports are so important in boosting children's self-esteem, co-ordination and general fitness and helps them learn how to work with other children and adults,” she said.
“Getting behind Perth Rugby Club is something we can all feel passionate about. More than half the allocated tickets have already sold for this event so I’d urge people to book now.”
