Rugby: Scotland stars coach Perth kids

YOUNGSTERS from Perthshire Rugby Club were still basking in the afterglow yesterday after receiving a masterclass from two Scottish internationalists.

Edinburgh duo Nick De Luca and Craig Hamilton, whose side have earned plaudits for their performances in this season’s Magners League, passed on pearls of wisdom to 47 boys and girls during the week-long camp on the Fair City’s North Inch.

Organised by Shire’s community development officer, Derek O’Riordan, the on-going initiative is designed to nurture the next generation of talent, between the ages of eight and 15.

The scheme will next take place from August 9 to 13.

Mr O’Riordan said he expected the star-studded session would be proved to have been a valuable exercise.
