S1/2 Perth Academy Blues 21
Buckhaven Sharks 14
WITH several S2 players missing they were forced to combine with the talented S1 squad to play a combined S1/2 Sharks outfit who always provide a stiff test.
The sides exchanged scores throughout the first half with the Sharks narrowly in the lead thank to a great conversion kick by their stand-off just on the half.
From half-time kick-off strong attacking play looked like the Sharks might dominate the remainder of the game with a two further tries.
Sharks defences as the Blues scored three tries in the last ten minutes – Finlay Ormiston (2) and a last minute Murray McCann try left the Sharks floundering.

THIS was always going to be a great game with a long rivalry between the sides and both squads were looking to run the ball and test their oppositions' metal.
The Sharks looked impressive in the early exchanges as they slashed through the Blues defence and great scrambling tackles prevented the early score.
The Sharks’ big forwards began to threaten with good takes at lineout and strong hard running off quick ruck ball but despite huge amounts of pressure the Academy defence held firm.
The Blues scored again this time from a scrum.
Number 8 Andrew Williamson launched a back row move that sent David Peddie crashing over from short range. Chris Donaldson and Craig Johnston linked well to secure the kickoff before the ball was whipped wide and Robertson managed to kick ahead for Ewan White to chase and score the third try of the match.
The Sharks never gave up and frequently looked like breaking through just before the half time whistle.
However, with the wind now at their backs a resurgent Blues pack pressed home their advantage producing some great attacks and excellent handling sent Dayle Robertson in for two further tries to seal a great win.
Fortunately for the Sharks, the Blues failed to convert all five tries and missing a penalty in front of the posts in difficult conditions.
Those S4 players staying on for 5th year should see coach Mueller-Ahsmann and order their 1st XV shirts for next season, asap. Shirts cost £35 approx.
