Perth Road Runners

IT was another big race weekend for Perth Road Runners with a handful of members heading north for the Lochaber Marathon and a couple running in the Sir Chris Hoy Half Marathon in Edinburgh.

At Lochaber, Greg Simpson overcame severe cramp at 25 miles to finish first PRR home in 2hrs 52mins 5secs. Debbie Jackson finished in 4hrs 36mins 6secs, not a PB but faster than her last marathon. Anne Wombill did 4.20.24, Isobel Duncan 5.15, Fiona Morrison 5.19.28 and Elaine Ogg 5hrs 30secs.

A special mention should be made to Anne, Fiona and Elaine who took 7mins, 17mins and 20mins off their PB's respectively.

Kevin Judge ran well in the Edinburgh Half Marathon, finishing in 1hr 29mins 19secs, followed by Phil Turner in 1.56.04.

This Sunday sees the last of the consecutive marathon weekends for our members but by no means the least, the London Marathon.

A large number of our members have made their way down and we'll be looking out for them and cheering them on TV.

The club meets every Tuesday at Bell’s at 6.30pm where you will be greeted and introduced to some of our members who run at the same pace as you and will look out for you.
