SEVERAL Perth Roadrunners kick-started the holiday season by running in the Famous Grouse 10k race held in Crieff recently.
This is more of a trail race than road race with several hilly sections.
Linton Scarborough was 10th overall and first Perth man home in 39.10. Kevin Judge followed in 40.02.
In the ladies Meike Cooper was 11th female overall in 47.33. Tania Greenhorn was next in 53.30 followed by Vicky Park 54.35 and Karen Walters in 65.44.
It was a ladies night at the Newburgh 4.25 mile race last week. Perth trio Angela Park, Rhona McBean and Vicky Park were the sole representatives. Angela was first home for Perth and fourth female in 29.50 followed by Rhona in 33.45 and Vicky in 35.59.
The club thanked all the Perth Roadrunners who were involved in marshalling at the Perth Big Fun Run last weekend.
This 5k event around the North Inch was a great success with a good turn out of fun runners.
It’s a busy week ahead with The John R Weir Tour of Fife starting on Sunday – a six race schedule over seven days of varying distances and terrain.
The fourth race of the club championship also takes place this weekend.
A strong Perth contingent is expected to travel to Ballater for this popular 10-mile race in Royal Deeside.
