PUPILS in Perthshire schools have marked today’s Royal Wedding with a variety of celebrations this week.P1 youngsters at Our Lady’s Primary School in Perth created and designed wedding cakes helped by volunteers and a specialist cake maker, as well as designing wedding outfits and making flower button holes.The school’s P3 pupils planned a wedding which included designing invitations, finding out from parents and grandparents about their wedding to look at how the ceremony has changed over the years, and making wedding favours.Ruthvenfield Primary School made memorabilia plates, designed wedding dresses and made sandwiches and cakes for a garden party on Wednesday, with the school playground decorated with bunting and flags.Stanley Primary School pupils learned about a range of topics including the Royal family, how a family tree works, looking at the important elements needed to organise a wedding and their impact.Pupils also made keepsakes and enjoyed a wedding cake they helped to design and make.At the Blairgowrie Community Campus, St Stephen’s RC Primary School and Newhill Primary School organised a special wedding breakfast-themed lunch yesterday, while Rattray Primary’s nursery class and the infant classes at Perth’s Viewlands Primary held ‘street parties’ for pupils and parents.The two P1 classes at Inch View Primary wore wedding outfits and attended a special reception.Coupar Angus PS held a street party, while children from Perth’s Goodlyburn Primary are attending a special lunch at Letham St Mark’s Church today, with proceeds going to one of William and Kate’s nominated charities, Combat Stress.Read
